BALEH: Plans are in the pipeline to build various roads in the Hulu Rajang parliamentary constituency for the people to enjoy the progress that has been planned by the federal and state governments.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said many plans have been submitted to the office of the Ulu Rajang Development Agency (URDA) to implement the roads as soon as possible.

“The logging sector in Kapit now has also slowed down and due to that we lack wood products,” he added.

He said Bukit Mabong is an area that will be developed for the benefit of the local community and added that he will take seriously matters concerning the border between Ulu Baleh and Indonesia.

He said this during the launching ceremony of the new construction site for Rumah Empangau, Nanga Setekam here recently.

Touching on other matters, he said Kapit has the potential to become more advanced in the future considering that 70 per cent of the highest positions in Kapit District are held by the Iban people.

During the event, he also announced an allocation of RM30,000 for the new Rumah Empangau construction project.
