Police Day: 50% discount for traffic summonses from Apr 5 – 9

KUCHING: Motorists with traffic summonses can look forward to a 50 percent discount on their penalties in conjunction with the 214th Police Day celebration.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the offer will be effective from April 5 to 9 to be implemented throughout the state.

He said all summonses are eligible for the discount, with exceptions of a few.

“The summonses listed as follows are ineligible for the discounts. These include accident summons for the year 2020 and 2021; ‘No Compound’ (NC) status summons year 2018 to 2021; arrest warrant status summons year 2020 and 2021; court hearing status summons; lorry related offence summons; dangerous overtaking summons and queue cutting year 2020 and 2021; summons for using emergency lanes year 2020 and 2021; traffic light offenses summons year 2020 and 2021; overtaking in double line areas year 2020 and 2021; and exhaust modification related summons issued starting March 1 this year,” he explained today.

Summons payment and checks can be made at the police traffic branches in nearby districts.

Checks can be made through providing vehicle registration number or MyKad number at the counters.

Payment can also be made at all district traffic police offices throughout Sarawak.
