KUCHING: Police seized 18.88g of syabu and cash amounting to RM66,730 from a couple in a house at Selangan Batu Road on Wednesday. Sarawak Head of Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) Supt Hasnir Abdul Hakim said the couple, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old Indonesian woman, were caught at 11.15am.
During the raid, police found a brown cross bag containing a transparent plastic package. Inside the plastic package were 12 smaller transparent plastic packages containing syabu. Both were arrested under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The man also tested positive for drugs. He will be charged under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Both have been detained for further questioning.
