Police nab four druggies in Batu Kawa

KUCHING: Police arrested four men for possessing drugs, believed to be syabu at MJC, Batu Kawa last Wednesday (Apr 7).

Padawan deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong said the men were detained by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) Padawan team at 4:30pm.

“Following inspection conducted on the suspects, police found two transparent plastic packets containing crystalline substances from one of the suspects.

“The substance is believed to be Syabu-type drugs weighing 5.23g. The drugs were seized and all the suspects tested positive for drugs,” he said.

Lim added upon questioning, one of the suspects, aged 37, admitted that the drug belonged to him and that he obtained the drug supply from a man called ‘Boss’. The suspect also revealed that he has been involved in drug addiction activities since 2016. The other three suspects had several past records.

“All the suspects are being detained at the Siburan Police Station to facilitate investigations under under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
