Police nab two foreign men, seize drugs worth RM4,200

BINTULU: Police arrested two foreign men and seized syabu worth RM4,200 in separate arrests at Jalan Sungai Nyigu last Friday (July 16).

District police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said the suspects aged 36 and 31, were arrested by narcotics police in front of a factory here around 3.30pm.

“The team arrested the 36-year-old suspect at the scene and found three plastic packets and 20 straw tubes containing crystalline lumps believed to be syabu.

“The drugs weighing 31.9g and valued around RM3,500, was seized as evidence,” he told.

Shortly after the first arrest, a 31-year-old foreigner was nabbed in the same area.

Police found two plastic packets containing crystalline lumps believed to be syabu in a pouch.

The drugs weighing 6.6g and valued around RM700, were seized as evidence.

Background checks found that both men did not have any past records. They tested positive for drugs.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A (2) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, as well as Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
