Police need public assistance to find next-of-kin

SIBU: The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) is currently in the attempt to locate the next-of-kin of a deceased man, Jantau Kanyan, whose body was found by the public.

Jantau was found shirtless, clothed with longs pants, lying on a chair located at an empty hut near Jalan Paradom, Sibu on Feb 8 at around 11.15am.

Based on police intel and its crime scene investigation, a brown duffel bag and a blanket that was found near the body of the deceased that belonged to the Sibu Hospital.

A police spokesman said that they managed to identify the victim from the items that were found in his bag which included a personal medical card.

“No trace of struggle was identified and the victim’s belongings were still in good condition and undisturbed,” said the police.

However,  the victim’s age and race is still unknown as there was no identity card found at the scene.
