KUCHING: Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri has confirmed that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has completed all necessary preparations for the upcoming Jepak state by-election, scheduled for Saturday (Nov 4).

During a press conference held at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) on Friday (Nov 3), he announced that a total of 624 police officers and personnel have been mobilised to ensure security control for the election.

This is the first assignment for the PDRM in the fourth phase of the Jepak by-election, with the second assignment involving the vote counting process and including 595 officers and personnel.

“The primary objective is to prevent any interference by individuals or groups attempting to violate the law and potentially disrupt national security,” Comm Mohd Azman said.

He emphasised the importance of voters adhering to the suggested voting times, which start at 7.30am and end at 5.30pm. He urged voters to avoid casting their votes during the final hours.
