KUCHING: Police have observed that all secondary schools here complied with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Ministry of Education (MoE), when schools reopened nationwide on Wednesday (June 24).

Kuching acting OCPD Supt Merbin Lisa said police monitored the situation starting from 6.45am as Form Five and Form Six students began returning.

“Overall, we are satisfied with the level of compliance by the schools such as temperature checks, face masks, hand sanitisers and social distancing.

“Our team observed the situation at the main gate, teacher’s office, classrooms and halls, and the school’s contingency plan in case of rain,” he said.

Also present were SMK Batu Lintang principal Bahtiar Affendi, Crime Prevention and Community Safety head DSP Dayang Rahmah Awang Bolhan, and ASP Azlizi Razali, who represented the Kuching Traffic Investigation and Enforcement.
