SRI AMAN: A police truck carrying 14 Sarawak General Operations Force (GOF) 10th Battalion personnel swerved out of control and crashed yesterday morning.

According to State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the incident occurred at Jalan Ulu Paku-Batu Lintang, here at 10am.

One of the personnel suffered injuries to his left shoulder and his back and was taken to Sri Aman Hospital for treatment.

Alexson noted that the incident occurred when the team were on their way back to their camp at Temudok here.

“The truck was going uphill when its brake malfunctioned, causing the truck to travel backwards down the hill.

“The driver then lost control of the vehicle and crashed along the side of the road,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Police have responded to the scene and are investigating the incident under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
