KUCHING: Between 90 and 95 per cent of Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) students found employment upon graduation, says director Hikmatullah Hajid Ahmad Khan.

“Based on the marketability statistics of graduates since 2017, the trend showed that the employment rate in 2017 was 97.2 percent, 97.7 percent (2018) and 91.1 percent (2019).

“Meanwhile, the remaining per cent comprised those who decided to continue their studies locally or overseas,” he added.

Hikmatullah was speaking at the 29th PKS Convocation held via YouTube Live on Tuesday (Nov 30).

He said that the success of an institution was not only measured by its ranking but also its ability to produce graduates who are competitive, innovative and versatile.

“We have always ensured that all students are involved in co-curricular activities by joining clubs and associations on the campus to build up their soft skills.”

The ceremony was held for 1,268 students who successfully completed their studies in the December 2019/June 2020 session.
