MUKAH: Students of Politeknik Mukah (PMU) who are currently undergoing their quarantine order had received food assistance on Wednesday.

Some 970 food packs were distributed to help lessen the burden of students – and their families – in terms of having a sufficient food supply.

The contribution worth RM9,000 was organised under the Saberkas Balingian Prihatin programme and was officiated by Saberkas Balingian branch vice-chairman I Munir Din.

Munir represented Abdul Yakub Arbi who is Balingian’s assemblyman and Saberkas chairman. He handed over the contribution to Students Affairs and Development Department head Awang Annuar Awang Mansor at PMU on Wednesday.

Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) officer Hafizzul Abdul Halim and member of Mukah Parliament Youth Muhamad Tarmizi Karnain Abdah also attended the event.

PMU director, Dullah Muluk lauded the contribution from Saberkas stating that as students were not allowed to return home until May 10, the food packs would lessen their burden and their families.

“We are glad and thankful to Abdul Yakub and Saberkas Balingian for their concern and support at times such as this,” said Dullah while adding that Saberkas Balingian also helped out PMU students during the first MCO enforcement on March 18 2020.
