KUCHING: The haze that is currently enveloping the city did not dampen the mood of over 6,000 people who came with ‘Malaysia Bersih’ spirit to Stadium Perpaduan here last night to celebrate the 56th Malaysia Day.

Clad in various ethnic traditional attire and Malaysia Day costumes, the crowd was waved the Malaysia flag high while loudly shouting “Malaysia Bersih!” repeatedly.

Many in the crowd also came to see Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg. This was obvious when they cheered out at the top of their lungs upon the arrival of the guests of honour.
