SIBU: The Ministry of National Unity distributed a total of 5,000 packets of bubur pedas (spicy porridge) in conjunction with the Gerak Rahmah 2023 Programme: Segulai Sejalai Bubur Pedas here yesterday (April 8).

The programme, which was organised at Dataran Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang, was officiated by its minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.

Aaron, when met by reporters, said that the programme is good at instilling good values among the people, as it not only includes the community but also government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

“This is the second venue of the porridge distribution programme organised by the ministry, after the first one in Kuching. The response here in Sibu is overwhelming. Of course, this programme will be held across the state,” he said.

Also present were the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, and Sibu Resident Wong Hee Sieng.
