Positive individuals surrendered themselves in Bintulu

BINTULU: The 100 positive Covid-19 individuals in Bintulu who could not be traced before have surrendered themselves.

Bintulu Division Health Officer Dr Melvin Chung said all of them surrendered themselves to the Bintulu Division Health Office on Monday (Apr 26).

“The patients have personally contacted the Bintulu Health Office to surrender themselves. They have also agreed to receive treatment at Bintulu Hospital,” he said.

“We received assistance from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to track down the patients who could not be contacted,” he added.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Dr Chung revealed this at a press conference at the Bintulu Division Resident’s Office on Monday (Apr 26).

Also present were Bintulu Divisional Disaster Management Committee chairman cum Bintulu Division Resident Jack Aman Luat, Bintulu District Police Chief Superintendent Zulkipli Suhaili, and Bintulu District Office Muhammad Dino Amid.

Earlier on Sunday (Apr 25), Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing via his Facebook page revealed that 100 positive Covid-19 individuals in Bintulu confirmed between April 12 to 21 could not be traced or contacted as they had provided false personal information.
