KUCHING: Potential candidate for Bandar Kuching, Eric Tay Tze Kok from Sarawak United People’s party (SUPP) together with his team and Batu Lintang branch chairman, Sih Hua Tong paid a visit to a cancer patient at Kampung Sungai Nada.
Tay said the patient aged 47 suffered from rectal cancer three years ago. His condition improved after the first cycle of treatment (chemo and laser).
“Recently, there seems to have a need for another cycle of treatment after he suffered a relapse,” said Tay in a press release yesterday.
“With two children aged 16 and 7, the family’s financial constraint is mounting as the patient’s wife is earning a meagre income and was unable to make ends meet,” he added.
After checking out the family background, Tay said they brought a wheelchair donated by an individual and donated an undisclosed amount of cash to the family.
In addition, he said he will also help to contact the Welfare Department for assistance.
