KUCHING: PPMB FT won their first match against Saribas United in the 18th edition of Betong football league, defeating their opponents 1-0 at Betong Sports Complex recently. The goal was scored by Mohamad Arif in 17th minute after receiving a beautiful pass from Harith Lo.
PPMB FT could have won by a wider margin if their strikers have capitalised on the mistakes of their opponents. Saribas United tried hard to force a draw but were unable to penetrate the strong defence of the opposing side.
PPMB FT’s manager Khairul Anwar Bakti was glad that his team won but added that they could have got away with a better score. “I hope when we meet Bersepai FC on September 11, not only will we win again but also by a much wider margin,” he said, adding that he wanted his team to complete the league in a more positive note. PPMB FT first joined the Betong league three years ago.
