KUCHING: Non-Muslim houses of worship in yellow and green zones are allowed to open for prayers only during the conditional movement control order (CMCO) period.

Prayer sessions conducted must abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the prevention and control of Covid-19.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) recently released the updated SOPs effective from last Monday to March 1.

Houses of worship in red and orange zones are only allowed to conduct live streaming with the number of committee members or live streaming crew limited to 12 people only.

However, this is not applicable in areas that are under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

It also said that other activities like cultural activities, funeral services, weddings, meetings, seminars, and courses are still not allowed in yellow and green zones.

The number of attendees at yellow and green zones must not be more than 100 people at any one time but it is subjected to the size of the house of worship.
