Pre-Shawal special sales at 10 locations statewide

KUCHING: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) of Sarawak held pre-Shawal special sales simultaneously at 10 separate locations throughout the state yesterday.

Present to officiate the pre-Shawal special sales at Medan Niaga Satok yesterday was Minister of Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof accompanied by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Dato’ Anthony Nogeh Gumbek.

At the event, Fadillah and Nogeh visited the pre-Syawal special sales stalls and distributed gifts to traders at Medan Niaga Satok.

Among the objectives of the programme were to provide consumers with the opportunity to obtain essential items to celebrate Hari Raya and to enable consumers to get fresh items such as meat, chicken, vegetables and others.

In addition to pre-Shawal special sales, FAMA  Sarawak also held ‘My Best Buy Programme’ at Medan Niaga Satok in collaboration with distributors, retailers and wholesalers.

My Best Buy is a programme under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) to help low and middle-income people buy affordable kitchen items at reasonable prices.

My Best Buy offered selected agricultural products and control items products such as cooking oil, rice and sugar as well as agro-based products such as layered cake, chips and so on.

Meanwhile, FAMA Sarawak targeting to get RM1.3 million of sales from traders of Ramadan Bazaar and Pre-Shawal Special Sale in which, up to 21 June, the sales of the Ramadan Bazaar is RM931,436.42.

Also present was FAMA State Director Paza Dan.
