KUCHING: A single pregnant mother caught the attention of Hope Place after a concerned individual raised the issue to the organisation.

The single mother, identified as Ja’anaa Chambi, had recently lost her husband, leaving her with three other children.

According to Ja’anaa who shared her story with Hope Place during their visit yesterday, her late husband, 38, who used to work in construction suddenly died in mid June, without having any prior health issues.

“Now, Ja’naa needs to take care of three kids, aged between four and 14 years and she is conceiving another baby. Her neighbours, who are also under the B40 group, try their best to help her by giving her vegetables from time to time,” a representative from Hope Place said.

ope Place is currently helping her and her kids with some basic food aid. The non-governmental organisation (NGO) also plans to visit Ja’naa after her baby is born.
