KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg broke fast with leaders and the local community at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex yesterday (April 4).
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the event, which was attended by about 400 guests, was aimed at strengthening ties between the leaders and the local community.
Abang Johari also performed the Maghrib, Isyak and Terawih prayers in a congregation led by Imam Besar of Sarawak Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Asfia Awang Nassar, Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai, and Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Julaihi Narawi.
