KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday received a delegation from OCIKumho Sendirian Berhad at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya here.

OCIKumho Sendirian Berhad is a new joint venture company between OCI Malaysia and Kumho P&B Chemical Incorporation which is involved in producing EpiChloroHydrin at the Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu.

Abang Johari later received a similar call from AirBus Malaysia and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation led by SEDC chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Hussain who explained on the future plans for Airbus Malaysia, especially on the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for air transport such as Airbus aircrafts including helicopters.

“The approach is in line with the aspirations of the Premier for Sarawak to produce SAF that can be used by Airbus and this will definitely build a relationship between the Sarawak government through SEDC as well as Airbus and AirMax.

“The project is currently at the study stage and if agreed, it will start next year. In fact the state government has provided a 10,000 acre-site for that purpose in Bintulu,” said Abdul Aziz.
