KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg took the opportunity at the Tupong PBB Hari Raya open house to briefly share his experience at the recent World Hydrogen Summit and Exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

He said Sarawak’s presence at the summit from May 9 to 11 was proof of the state’s recognition by the international community.

“I felt humbled … Sarawak has gained recognition (at the summit) from thousands of skilled individuals and experts in the field,” he said his speech at the open house hosted by Tupong assemblyman and Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman at the Penview Convention Centre in Demak, near here on Sunday (May 15).

He said Sarawak was the first country in Southeast Asia to explore hydrogen as a renewable energy source.

Activities at the event included a choir performance by the PBB women’s movement, a dance performance by Kasuma Tari Group, a ‘live band’ performance by D’Jasa and lucky draws.
