KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will give a talk about Sarawak’s initiatives on smart cities at the Asean Education Cities Conference (AECC) 2023 in Kuala Lumpur next week.

He said he has been invited by the organiser to talk on the subject matter.

“Actually, the federal government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has acknowledged our (Sarawak government) planning which is very well organised in terms of how we develop our city.

“I was invited to be the speaker on the subject of smart cities in Kuala Lumpur organised by Sunway University,” he said.

He was speaking at the Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) of Kuching, Samarahan, and Serian Divisions’ Chinese New Year dinner 2023 at Imperial Hotel here on Monday (Feb 6).

Abang Johari, who is also the Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development and Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, said that last year he was also invited to give a talk at the World Hydrogen Summit and Exhibition, Rotterdam in Netherlands; the 15th Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) in Singapore and the Time To Act: Hydrogen Forum in Japan.
