MIRI: Enforcement teams raided a premise which illegally stored subsidised diesel fuel for sale to industrial users.
Enforcement and intelligence teams from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affair (KPDNHEP) and 12th Battalion General Operations Force (GOF) Miri raided a premise during an integrated operation.
According to a statement from KPDNHEP, the raid was carried out on Friday in the Krokop area.
“This is following a viral post in Facebook Miri Community regarding the misuse of subsidise diesel fuel at a petrol station.
“The raid was carried out by 14 personnel from both agencies at a premise where diesel fuel was illegally stored and later on to be sold to industrial users,” it stated.
Upon further inspection, the premise did not receive any permission from the controller regarding the ownership of the diesel.
At the premise, the team has seized a tanker, two pickup vehicles, three vehicle keys, nine electric pumps and nine hoses of various sizes including 12,800 litres of diesel fuel.
“The estimated value of the controlled item is RM27,520 while non-controlled items are estimated to be worth RM263,000, bringing the total value to RM290,520,” it added.
The case is being investigated under Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for the possession of control items without the permission from the controller.
The case is also being investigated under Section 21 of the same act.
