SRI AMAN: The Sarawak Kita Empun (SKE) programme plays a very significant role in explaining the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government policies to every citizen of the state.

Organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women, SKE also aims to prepare the party’s grassroots machinery in facing the election.

Recently, 70 women, representing 35 PBB branches in Beting Maro constituency attended the one-day programme.

The participants were briefed on topics related to latest issues, especially the struggle for the State’s rights, the various initiatives by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and strategies in facing the opposition including issues in social media.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, who officiated at the event, reminded the participants to be knowledgeable on issues involving Sarawak’s rights and interests.

“Do not think it is the role of the government or the people in Kuching because we also benefit from it to develop a state that is enjoyed by all.

“This matter should be known and understood by all, especially the grassroots leaders so that there is a sense of love to support the government that fights for our rights and interests,” she said.

Hasidah reminded the women leaders to be prepared for the 12th State Election (PRN-12) which could be called anytime soon.

Deputy head of PBB Women and Batang Lupar MP, Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, who was also present, said SKE was a channel to listen to issues at the village level.

“There may be issues that are still hovering but on behalf of the government, we are always looking for the best solution, Insha Allah.

“I just hope that our women at the grassroots level will continue to open their ears and eyes, and then continue to convey the issues raised by the people so that they can be resolved immediately,” she said.

GREAT WOMEN … Dialogue session that fills the SKE programme.

SKE chairperson and Kota Samarahan MP, Rubiah Wang hoped that all 86 of Abang Johari’s people-oriented initiatives would be known by Sarawakians.

“Therefore, through this SKE, we provide an exclusive explanation on the Sarawak government’s efforts in ensuring the wellbeing of the people is addressed properly.

“We, as the machinery of women have a role to convey to the people … tell them what the state government is doing, explain what Abang Johari’s initiatives are.

“I really hope the PPB women’s machinery can ensure victory of GPS in PRN-12 later.

“This is an important mission towards ensuring that Sarawak is able to achieve the status of a developed state by 2030,” she said.

Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor has high hopes for the commitment of the Beting Maro PBB women’s machinery to ensure that the seat remains with PBB.
