“Although durians are quite expensive this year compared to previous years, my husband and I are not deterred as long as we can enjoy the delicious fruit.

“Every durian season, we always go to the area near Emart Matang because the durian sellers there offer quality durians at reasonable prices.

“Usually, we choose durians from Sri Aman because for us, they taste the best as compared to others,” she said.

She added that she and her husband would often buy durians in large quantities to be made into various dishes for her family.

Among the durian-based dishes that she makes are bingka durian (durian cake), bubur durian (durian porridge dessert) and tempoyak (fermented durian).
