MIRI: A series of aid will be given to schools in Sibuti constituency including the relocation of two national schools (SK) and allocations to kindergarten and Chinese national type schools (SJKC).

“I will continue to fight for the welfare of school and students in the Sibuti constituency to provide comfort and good facilities, especially in rural areas,” said Sibuti assemblyman Lukanisman Awang Sauni during a Chinese New Year 2022 gathering hosted by his service centre.

“We are going to relocate SK Batu Niah and SK Kita to a more spacious area. We will build a larger school for them. SK Kita will be relocated near Niah mosque.

“If you have seen SK Rancangan Sepupok, it is also under construction to build a new school building. More than 10 schools in Sibuti constituency will be rebuilt,” he said.

He also announced a grant of RM5,000 to Chung Hua Bakam Kindergarten, Niah Methodist Kindergarten, Batu Niah Kindergarten, Niah Kindergarten and Sibuti Kindergarten.

Meanwhile, Chung Hua Bakam Chinese National Type School (SJKC), SJKC Chung Hua Lumut, SJKC Chung Hua Sibuti, SJKC Chee Mung, SJKC Chin Nam and SJKC Tukau were allocated a total of RM8,000.

He added that the current primary six students who would be attending secondary school in March would receive school uniform vouchers.

“This is a school assistance and gift to these students. I want them to wear new school uniform on the first day of their secondary school.”

The assemblyman was concerned about the expenses parents have to spend on new school supplies and hoped the school uniform aid would help to alleviate the burden.

He also announced plans to relocate Subis health clinic to

Niah, Sepupok, saying the government had allocated a piece of land for the purpose.
