KANGAR: Perlis Public Library Corporation in collaboration with the state government and the Perlis Education Department in encouraging students to master English, for the first time launched the ‘Wheels Of English Fun Learning’ programme early this month, which will continue until September.

The first programme conducted at the Centre for Education Excellence (PKP) in Arau on April 13 has received encouraging response with over 500 students and parents participating.

Perlis Education, Information and Communication Technology Committee chairman Rozieana Ahmad said various interesting knowledge-based content and mastery of English applied the concept of learning while playing, singing and acting.

“This programme involves active, creative and innovative English teachers in line with holistic education and English as intermediate language, covering various subjects such as Mathematics and Science,” he told reporters after launching the state-level ‘Jom Baca Bersama 10 Minit’ Programme here, today.

Rozieana said the Wheels Of English Fun Learning programme involved eight Centres for Education Excellence throughout Perlis this year. Tomorrow, the programme will be held at Jejawi followed by Kuala Perlis (June 22), Padang Besar (July 13), Paya (July 27), Simpang Empat (Aug 10), Tambun Tulang (Aug 24) and Kangar (Sep 14). – Bernama
