during the ‘Program Kembara Siswa Patriotik 2018 Siswa Bersama Komuniti’ at Kpg Pinang, Kota Samarahan, yesterday.
KOTA SAMARAHAN: The “Program Kembara Siswa Patriotik 2018 (Siswa Bersama Komuniti)” held at Kpg Pinang near here yesterday received an overwhelming response from the villagers.
The programme which was jointly organised by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak branch and Tun Abdul Razak Teachers Education Institute (IPG) was aimed at exposing the students of both UiTM and IPG with the local community through various activities as well as to instil the spirit of patriotism among them.
The programme was officiated at by Muara Tuang Assemblyman, Dato Haji Idris Buang at SK Pinang.
“This is a good programme to instil cooperation between the students and the local communities. I am supportive of this kind of programme where students are very keen to assist and concern with the community’s needs.
“I hope this programme will trigger the spirit of patriotism among the participants and local communities as well as to people in other places,” he said, adding that the activity with the pupils will foster and nurture the spirit of love for the nation by exposing historical stories to them.
Among the activities held were renovating two dilapidated houses in the village, entertaining the school children, community service with the villagers and others.
