Projects under RTP going on smoothly

The just completed Taman Harmoni Community Hall.

SRI AMAN: Several projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) in the district here are carrying out smoothly.

This includes the just completed Taman Harmoni Community Hall in the district here. The handing over of the RM200,000 hall which was completed on Jan 7 will be done once the community hall management committee is established.

Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis together with the community hall implementing agency — Sri Aman District Council (MDSA) went  to inspect the multipurpose hall project last Thursday (March 4).

During the work visit, he said the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government has proven to keep its promise by channelling allocations to develop facilities for the needs of the local community.

“This has been not only in the form of improving living standards through economic activities but also developing facilities for leisure activities and community engagement to strengthen unity and cooperation in the community,” he said.

Harden also reviewed the need to build a car park and an open space hall for Darul Hasanah Surau in Taman Harmoni, while other proposals included installing a fence for the basketball court at PRP Phase 2.

He also went to look at the progress of the construction of the new futsal court at Rh Rose Emma, Temudok Atas of which the ceiling cost for this project is RM300,000 and allocations for this project will be channelled from the state government.

 Harden ended his working visit by surveying the installing of new fence for the Methodist Church in Jalan Paya costing RM230,000.

The project cost RM230,000 and is currently under construction.
