Promising future with RM215k in community infrastructure

SIMANGGANG: Residents of Rumah Tukang in Ensawang here have been allocated RM215,000 to improve the infrastructure of their longhouse.

This funding package includes RM200,000 allocation from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), an additional RM10,000 provided by the Minor Rural Project (MRP) for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), and RM5,000 for the Ensawang Women’s Bureau.

Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamah, approved these funds during the Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat Programme, at the longhouse recently.

Moreover, Dr. Malcolm, who also the Batang Ai assemblyman, has allocated RM200,000 for village road enhancements and has provided special funds for longhouse roof upgrades.

He said that these financial contributions will support the longhouse community in their initiatives to better their infrastructure, thus increasing resident comfort.

Earlier, Dr. Malcolm attended the Sahur ceremony held at the Lubok Antu District Public Works Department (PWD) office which was attended by the community leaders, members of the Lubok Antu District Council, and department heads.

Also present were PWD Sarawak director Datuk Richard Tajan, deputy directors Dr. Cassidy Morris, Josenthiana Manggie, Minjo Semanding, and the Political Secretary to the Premier, Roseline Neging.
