SARATOK: Traders in the rural areas are advised to actively use smartphones to promote their products online.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said nowadays most traders at least have basic knowledge to use social media applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok.

“I’m sure the community often presses (uses) the application every day, so this is an opportunity for traders to promote their respective products online.

“Don’t be ashamed to trade using a smartphone because the demands of life today are very challenging.

“Therefore, if we feel that applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok can be used to increase business yields, there is nothing wrong with continuing to use them actively,” he said.

He said this at the certificate presentation ceremony for food handling course participants here, yesterday.

However, he stressed, its use should be prudent and honest.

It is understood that he fully sponsored the cost of the course which was attended by 120 participants.
