BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming urged the community to be vigilant in safeguarding public property against theft and vandalism.

During a lighting ceremony for the newly installed ‘bubble bulb’ decorative lamp here on Thursday night, Pang highlighted the importance of appreciating and maintaining public facilities provided by the government.

“These facilities, especially those by the Bintulu Development Board (BDA), are evidence to the government’s commitment to serving the people. It’s crucial for everyone to protect these assets,” he said.

Pang also emphasised the role of these installations in enhancing the ambiance of the Bintulu Auditorium area, noting their contribution to public safety.

Echoing Pang’s sentiments, BDA general manager Datuk Muhammad Yakup Kari said that the ‘bubble bulb’ project cost RM312,350.00, forming part of BDA’s broader initiative to beautify Bintulu.

“This initiative aligns with our ‘Together We Make Bintulu Better’ campaign, complementing major projects like the Bintulu – Jepak Bridge,” Muhammad Yakup said.
