BINTULU: A dialogue session held on Friday ended a protest staged by workers of a factory in Samalaju.

On Wednesday night, workers of the factory staged a protest after being confined to their dormitory quarantine facility for more than four months since January 13 this year.

Following the incident, two dialogue sessions were held on Thursday and Friday to resolve the matter.

Among those present during the dialogue session, aside the factory’s management team was Bintulu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) chairman Jack Aman Luat.

Jack, when contacted yesterday on the latest development from the dialogue sessions held, said that the issues have been solved.

“It is a win-win situation for both parties,” he replied via WhatApps to New Sarawak Tribune.

“The factory workers have been allowed to return home to their respective families,” he said.

On another matter, the Bintulu Resident said the committee would decide whether to extend the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Bintulu which ends on April 27.
