Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) is eager to participate in the Unity Government National Convention scheduled for next month at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur.

Its president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum said however, the proposed date of the convention on May 14 conflicts with the commencement of the Sarawak State Legislative (DUN) Assembly on May 15.

“We express our concerns and thoughts of the possibility that our ADUN (elected representative from PRS) may not be able to participate due to the scheduled date.

“However, this is not finalised yet. We would like to send our members to represent Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), once it is finalised then we are able to select and recommend who will go for the convention,” he said.

He said this in a press conference after chairing the party’s supreme council meeting held at its headquarters here today.

On another note, Salang said the party’s meeting touched on creating the party’s official website.

“We are looking into the possibility of having a proper website for the party.

“At the same time, we want to clean up our process of membership recruitment through mostly online if possible, in addition applying through the physical form,” he said.
