BAU: The launch of Pub Street in Lobuh Bau is expected to have a big impact on local businesses here.

It attracted a huge turnout at the night market with the locals letting their hair down to country music played by the country music performers.

Deputy Minister for Transport II Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said this would create opportunities for local businesses to thrive and boost the socioeconomic activities in Bau.

During the launching, Henry hoped Bau will become livelier with these activities .

“When I first became assemblyman, many came to me and said that Bau is just like a dead town because there are no activities after two o’clock in the afternoon.

“No activities means no movement and no social and business activities. Today, after five to six years, we have made Bau town a lively town, day and night”, he said this when officiating the Pub Street at Lobuh Bau, last night.

Henry who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman, said a town that does not have socio economic activity is like a soulless person.

Pub Street in Lobuh Bau started its operations in April and now has 14 stalls selling different food and beverages.

Present at the launching was District Officer, Anelia Siam and Deputy Chairman for District Council of Bau, William Ding.
