MIRI: Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin who is also minister in-charge of the Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) said that the Pujut Satu Cluster in this district is a workplace cluster, involving auxiliary police personnel in Sesco Pujut at Jalan Pujut 1.

He said that the index case for the cluster is a local man who tested positive through contact tracing.

“The index case was a close contact to a positive case detected in Sibu Hospital on March 27.

“The index case underwent screening and tested positive for Covid-19 on March 29,” he said after chairing a Miri DDMC meeting last Saturday.

Commenting on the Pujut Satu Cluster, Lee said failure in practising physical distancing among family members and co-workers could be a factor that led to the spread of the virus.

In view of the Covid-19 situation in this district, Miri DDMC has issued guidelines for home quarantines as well as preventive measures.

“For home quarantine, individuals must remain at his or her house and are not allowed to go out unless there is an emergency. He or she must also practise social distancing with family members,” he said, adding that visitors are also not allowed.

For Covid-19 preventive measures at workplaces, workers must produce a health declaration form before starting work apart, from scanning the MySejahtera QR code and having their body temperature checked.
