Pustaka- Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival from 22-23 April

KUCHING: A total of 17 children’s writers, illustrators, poets and storytellers from six countries are coming here to conduct 55 sessions on the joys of reading in the third edition of Pustaka-Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival from 22- 23 April, 2017.

The festival will take place at Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) in association with Bookaroo Trust, New Delhi, India from 11am until 4.30pm.

It offers children and book lovers a chance to meet and interact with distinguished local and foreign children’s authors, illustrators, poets and storytellers.

Visiting speakers for the festival will visit schools on   21 April for a variety of programmes ranging from lively storytelling to interactive talks to hands-on arts and crafts.

The two days of non-stop fun are for everyone aged between four and 12 to meet writers, illustrators, storytellers and poets for amazing art, terrific tales, cool crafts and puppets, poems and puzzles.

Among the activities will be storytelling,     puppetry, mask-making, doodling, making of a paper patchwork, monster hunting and a tactile art walk.

There will be a special display of  books by the speakers at the Festival Bookstore for purchase and signing, and a variety of stalls selling food and drinks.

The festival is open to everyone, admission is free and there is no pre-registration.
