Pustaka is organising three competitions which are open to the public for free, in conjunction with Sarawak Day 2020.

KUCHING: In connection with Sarawak Day 2020, the Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) is organising three competitions which are open to the public for free.

The three competitions are the ‘Sarawak Cemerlang 2020 Short Video Competition’ (Smartphone), ‘Sarawak Day Sketches Competition’ themed Sarawak Cemerlang, and ‘Historical Research Writing Competition’.

With regard to the first competition, Pustaka in a statement yesterday (July 25) said, “Join us and highlight the creativity and aspirations of ‘Sarawak Cemerlang’, that it, the excellence of Sarawak in various fields at national or international levels, through your short videos.”

They explained that participants are required to provide a short video which focuses on an area of interest, such as education, sports, gaming, art, and so on.

The competition will run from July 30 to August 23. Terms and conditions in the registration form should be read, which can be found at https://www.pustaka-sarawak.com/document_uploaded/ 1595472089.pdf.

Various attractive prizes are up for grabs — a 13-inch MacBook Air (grand prize), RM500x5 (first prize), RM400x5 (second prize), RM300x5 (third prize), RM200x5 (fourth prize), and RM100x5 (consolation prize).

The competition entry form can be found at https://www.pustaka-sarawak.com/document_uploaded/1595554475.pdf.

“Entries should be sent to the organisers in MP4 or AVI video format via email to videosingkatpustakanegeri2020@gmail.com, latest by August 23,” said Pustaka.

On the ‘Hari Sarawak Sketches Competition’, entries should also be about the excellence of Sarawak in various fields at national or international levels. This competition runs from July 26 to August 23.

Prizes waiting to be won are a Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite 8 (grand prize), RM500x5 (first prize), RM400x5 (second prize), RM300x5 (third prize), RM200x5 (fourth prize), and RM100x5 (consolation prize).

The entry form can be obtained at https://www.pustaka sarawak.com/download_get.php?id=727 and should be returned to Pustaka along with the participant’s competing design by August 23 at the latest via e-mail to statedepository@sarawak.gov.my.

Alternatively, these can be directly handed over to the following address — U/P: Komiti Pertandingan Sketches Sempena Sambutan Hari Sarawak 2020, Repositori Rekod Negeri, Jalan Sultan Tengah, Petra Jaya, 93050, Kuching, Sarawak.

Lastly, members of the public are invited to join the ‘Historical Research Writing Competitio’n, whereby entries should be about Sarawak’s historical research.

“The competition will be held from August 1 to 31,” said Pustaka, requesting those interested to follow the latest developments on the competition on their website and social media.

The prizes up for grabs are a Huawei Matebook 13 Touch Screen (grand prize), RM500x2 individuals (first prize), RM400x2 (second prize), RM300x2 (third prize), RM200x2 (fourth prize), and RM100x20 (consolation prize).
