KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka Sarawak) and all its campuses will be closed from Friday (Feb 12) to Saturday (Feb 13) in conjunction with the Chinese New Year Celebration.

In a statement released today (Feb 8), it reminded the public of its Pustaka Sarawak Channel and BookBear services which are free.

It said that the Pustaka Sarawak Channel is an initiative to encourage reading habits despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Pustaka Sarawak Channel is a platform which broadcasts the programmes and activities online by utilising the YouTube channel. This is in line with the transformation of services in the new normal and it is accessible by searching Pustaka Sarawak on the platform.

“This initiative aims to encourage reading in the Covid-19 pandemic environment with new trends through YouTube channel. It also optimises the potential of information and communication technology to benefit the public without constraints of time or place,” it said.

Meanwhile, the BookBear services are accessible through the Angka.sa2 application which is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
