In line with this, he appealed to all government departments and agencies to give their cooperation in efforts to bringing about change that would be beneficial to the people.

Speaking at the “Wonderful Sarawak Night” organised by the state Information Department, Chong urged the people to be rational in their thinking and not to be obscured by regionalist sentiment.

Earlier, state Information Department director Abang Sardon Abang Hashim said that the event apart from aiming to enhance strategic ties between local leaders and government departments and agencies was also an avenue for the government to enhance racial ties.

He hoped that through the event, cooperation between government departments and local leaders could be enhanced further to enable them to provide excellent services to the people.
