Quarantined folk of 11 longhouses get food donations

MUKAH: The Resident and District Office (Rando) Mukah Division on Wednesday (April 21) contributed over 100 food baskets to folk in 11 longhouses in Sungai Duan near here currently undergoing home quarantine.

The longhouses are Rh Budin (six units), Rh Jiram (12), Rh Lindan (five), Rh Nyaun (one), Rh Migi (five), Rh Stevenson/Subing (14), Rh Kinseng (six), Rh Muda (14), Rh Ambo (14), Rh Tangkun/Draman (14) and Rh Dingun (10).

The donations, in the form of rice and basic essentials, were distributed with the assistance of the army, police, People’s Volunteer Corp and Civil Defence Force.

Sarawak administrative officer Peleadzman Ahip, who represented Mukah Resident Hamdiah Bakir, said the contributions were a follow-up to the ones given by the Community Welfare Department previously.

Hamdiah is also the chairperson of Rando, which organised the event.

Maj Justin Seruling from 510 Regiment Territorial Army and Cpl Azman Mursalim from Balingian police station also attended.
