KUCHING: Head of State Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy visit from the State Quran Recitation and Memorisation organising committee on Friday.
The delegation was led by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at Astana Negeri Sarawak.
According to a statement issued, the visit was made to inform and invite Wan Junaidi to attend the prize giving ceremony of the 63rd Sarawak Quran Recitation and Memorisation programme.
With the theme of ‘Sarawak Maju Makmur’, the said programme will be officiated at by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Dewan Suarah Limbang.
It added that throughout the programme (Mar 6 to 9), there will be various other activities such Quran quizzes, tree planting, and cooking demonstrations at Sungai Limbang Waterfront by Chef Muluk.
Also present were Wan Junaidi’s wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi; Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha; Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Sarawak director Datuk Khalidi Ibrahim and Limbang Resident Unus Tambi.
