Ragad distributes grants worth RM1.58 mln

MIRI: The wife of Head of State Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib today (Oct 26) distributed a total of RM1.58 million worth of grants to four community-based rehabilitation centres (CBRs) in Miri during a Jalinan Kasih programme.

Those four recipients were Miri CBR (RM501,211.35), Sunflower CBR (RM 431,591.15), Morsjaya CBR (RM234,753.95) and Long Laput CBR (RM410, 203.95).

During the programme, Ragad also disbursed financial assistance of RM5,000 each to five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) totalling RM25,000 — Palliative Care Miri, Welfare Generation Cross Over Society, Urusetia Saudara Kita Miri branch, Pusat Care Miri and Doh Kayan Telang Usan.

A total 50 underprivileged individuals including single mothers and people with disabilities also received financial contributions from Ragad in the event which was held at a leading hotel here.

Also present were Minister for Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Bekenu assemblywoman Datuk Rosey Yunus and Kayan paramount chief Temenggong Elizabeth Ding.
