KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib presented donations to help needy families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The donations were presented during a ‘Majlis Jalinan Kasih’ held at Pasir Pandak today to help ease the recipients’ burden.

“It has been a year since the outbreak and our country has been hampered by the pandemic ever since.

“Undoubtedly, it has had a huge impact on people from all walks of life in the world especially the less fortunate ones,” she said.

The donation consists of basic necessities such as rice, biscuits, sugar, flour and cash.

The programme benefitted 110 families from Kampung Pasir Pandak, Kampung Sungai Bedaun, Kampung Santubong and Kampung Buntal.

Accompanying Ragad during the presentation ceremony were Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, State Welfare Department director Norah Ahmad and Pantai Damai assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
