KUCHING: The state government is mulling the possibility of holding the Rainforest in the City as an annual event.
Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth, and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman said that he has been monitoring the event and would consider the proposal.

“We are contemplating on the whole event and looking at the positive reviews, we might consider holding the event again in future.

“But of course, I have to bring it up to the Cabinet,” he said when met by reporters after launching the Sarawak Asia Kitchen at the Rainforest World Music Festival 2019, in Sarawak Cultural Village here yesterday.

Abdul Karim was commenting on the new event, Rainforest in the City, which had received over 10,000 attendees within its 10 days.

Held for the first time from July 2 to 11 at the Kuching Amphitheatre, the event was hosted in conjunction with the Rainforest World Music Festival 2019.
