Ramadan funds of RM80k distributed

KUCHING: A total of 1,150 individuals from Kampung Belawai, Kampung Jerijeh, Kampung Rajang and Tanjung Manis areas received Ramadan aid from the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (Pusaka) and its subsidiary.

Urban Development and Natural Resources assistant minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh said funds totalling RM80,000 were distributed to 1,150 asnaf (poor) and converts for celebrating Ramadan as well as the upcoming Syawal.

“Today, representing the people of Tanjung Manis, I received the financial aid from Pusaka and its subsidiary, Pusaka Capital Sdn Bhd, which was presented by its general manager Hashim Bojet,” said Len today.

“This is an annual contribution by Pusaka since the last 20 years,” Len said in a Facebook post today.

Meanwhile, he said a similar contribution by the corporation will be distributed to 466 individuals, who will be celebrating the upcoming Hari Gawai, from longhouses throughout Tanjung Manis.

Also present during the cheque-presentation ceremony was Pusaka Capital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Mohd Nor Topek Julaihi.
