Ramadan marked with noble deeds

KUCHING: The month of Ramadan is further enlivened with various contributions given here at Satok constituency.

The Bubur Pedas Distribution programme organised by Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) and DBKU Kejiranan Mesra (KJM) Satok with the cooperation of government, private and community agencies was well received by the residents of the constituency.

Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki commended the organising of the programme as it is a noble one held during the holy month.

“I hope that this programme can establish good relationship among the community while fostering the spirit of cooperation within them,” he said.

He said this when met by the media after launching the programme at Surau Nurul Islam, Kampung No. 5 here yesterday.

The programme saw the distribution of a total of 500 packets of bubur pedas (by DBKU) and bubur lambuk (by Adabi) to attendees and residents of the area.

Aside from that, Ibrahim also witnessed the handing over of a cheque amounting to RM10,200 to be distributed to 51 asnaf (needy) in the constituency.

He also handed over dry food items to 21 asnaf here sponsored by the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) during the same ceremony.
