Rashidah appointed as new permanent secretary of KWKPK

KUCHING: Dr Rashidah Bolhassan has been appointed as the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK).

In a brief introduction, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah stated that Dr Rashidah was formerly chief executive officer (CEO) of Sarawak State Library.

“As the ministry’s new secretary, she holds a PHD in Information System from Victoria Business School, Victoria University of Wellington.

“She also has a Masters in Business Administration from University of Ohio and Masters of Library Science from Syracuse University,” Fatimah said at a press conference today.

Fatimah added that Dr Rashidah acquired her Bachelor of Library Studies from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and started her career at Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) in 1986 before working as the CEO at Sarawak State Library in 2003 until Dec 31, 2020.

“Aside from that, she is also a member of Sarawak Council’s for Women since 2017.

“With impressive academic credentials, excellent work record and achievements, passion in women development and arts, special interest in the senior citizen issues and age concern, I believe she is indeed the right person to fill the position,” Fatimah stated.

Also present during the press conference were Datuk Harden Hollis and Datuk Rosey Yunus.
