KUCHING: Two people died from head and body injuries in an accident on Wednesday night at 9pm.
A man, 35-year-old Recca Tutong Sabai from Kampung Selulap in Betong, was driving along Kampung Semukoi KM 77, Jalan Kuching/Sri Aman when he lost control of his car and plunged into a ravine. He was heading to Serian from Sri Aman.
With him was a female passenger, 37-year-old Mika Giang from Kampung Krangan Jaya in Serian, who died later at Serian Hospital.
Both were stuck in the vehicle and firemen were called to the scene to help release them. The car was wrecked following the accident.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed the case and said police are investigating.
